Why I Created Community Bread Basket
My experience as a Supportive Services Coordinator inspired me to create Community Bread Basket. For years, I’ve had the privilege of working one-on-one with senior citizens and low-income families, helping them navigate difficult times by connecting them with housing assistance, food resources, utility assistance, and other essential services.
While it was incredibly rewarding to help those in need, one reality stayed with me: there was never enough funding or enough resources to help everyone. Too often, I met hardworking individuals and families who simply didn’t qualify for assistance or found that available programs had exhausted their funding. Watching people leave without the help they desperately needed was heartbreaking.
That’s when I began asking myself, “What if our communities could become part of the solution?”
Community Bread Basket was born from that question. My vision is to create a community-powered safety net where neighbors help neighbors through affordable monthly memberships. Together, we can build a sustainable fund that provides emergency assistance to members facing unexpected hardships while keeping resources available to support the people who live in and strengthen our local communities.
I know we won’t be able to solve every problem or help every person, but I firmly believe that every act of kindness matters. Every membership, every donation, and every person who joins this mission has the power to make a meaningful difference in someone’s life.
I have faith that when people come together with compassion, transparency, and a shared purpose, we can build something truly extraordinary—one that restores hope, strengthens our communities, and reminds people that they never have to face life’s challenges alone.
